Last Fall, I traveled to Southeastern University to paint a mural in an amazing teacher’s classroom! I was given full creative freedom using few words— space and an eager student’s request for a gaming character named Kirby. Now, his classroom screams “I am a science teacher and I LOVE what I do!”
In collaboration with Mindful Messages, a non-profit organization, I created a mural at Fort Clarke Middle School that involved students directly in the process. The school did not offer any art classes, so this project served to provide students with a creative outlet to help them manage their stress.
While working on the mural, I engaged with the students, learning about their challenges and offering encouragement. Through this experience, they not only found relaxation in painting but also gained a new skill, contributing to their overall growth and well-being.
Please include the wall dimensions, material, and whether it's indoors or outdoors in the notes section when scheduling our meeting.
